Bigodi Swamp – After Lunch
The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates. The path and board walk maybe flooded and muddy after heavy rainfall and gumboots are recommended. This community walk will bring you closer to the local tribe that lives in this area and is about 4km in length taking 3-4 hours at birding pace. Accompanied by a local guide, who can tell you everything about the traditional customs and lifestyle, you will follow the village path and traditional homesteads.
Later you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking
Today the forest opens its doors for a sensational chimpanzee tracking experience.
Located in the south western part of the country, Kibale National Park has quite a large number of chimpanzees with about 1500 chimpanzees 120 of which are habituated. The chimpanzees here can easily be located due to their high number and the trekking is done twice a day that is in the morning and in the afternoon
Upon sighting the chimpanzees, you will spend an unforgettable one hour with them as they go about their daily life feeding, playing, grooming, taking care of their young, howling and screeching, in
their natural habitat.
After your tracking experience you will return back to the lodge for lunch.

Welcome to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park…
This National Park is home of the rare but critically endangered Mountain Gorillas (gorilla beringeiberingei). It lies on the edge of the Albertine Rift Valley in southwestern Uganda, with a wide altitude range between 1,160m and 2,600m.
Dating millenia, this is one of Uganda’s oldest and ecologically most diverse with almost 400 species of plants, 350 species of birds including 23 Albertine Rift endemics as well as 120 mammals species including lots of smaller ones like rodents and bats but also the Gorillas, Baboons, Chimpanzees, Elephants and Antelopes.
Day 6: Introduction to Gorilla Tracking…
Rising early amidst vast Equatorial rain forest is an unforgettable encounter with the Gentle Giants! Following breakfast, a guided pre- parking briefing, you will be transferred to the National Park offices where you will be allocated a gorilla family in groups of 8 as well as a gorilla tracking guide.
Trekking for 2 to 8 hours in steep and sometimes muddy conditions with rain overhead can be tough and require a degree of (average) fitness but the excitement of coming face to face with a giant Mountain Gorilla silverback completely makes it all worthy.
Afterwards, you hike back to base where your driver will be waiting
to transfer you to the lodge for a deserved shower and lunch or
dinner depending on the time taken on the trek.
Day 6:Transfer By car to Lake Mburo National Park

2 nights at Mihingo Lodge
After breakfast you’ll depart the impenetrable forest of Bwindi and head to Lake Mburo National Park. As you enter the park it is likely that you will spot some wildlife. After checking in you will go on a boat ride on the lake to view the rich bird life and many hippos that are cooling off. Have an early dinner before going on an optional (at extra fee) night game drive in an open Land Rover with spotlight. This special game drive of 2-3 hours provides good chances of seeing the elusive leopard and of course other nocturnal animals. En-route you’ll stop at Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch. The cultural centre illustrates the culture and traditional way of life of the local tribes in this area, including a museum, garden with indigenous trees and plants and traditional homesteads.
Welcome to Lake Mburo National Park…
Lake Mburo NP is one of the few parks in Uganda where you can
continue watching wildlife after the sun has set. A night game drive (usually 2-3 hours) is an exciting experience and unusual twist on your regular game drives, allowing you to search for a variety of animals that you would not easily see during the day, such as bush pigs, genet cats and white-tailed mongoose. But also the elusive leopards and spotted hyenas are best to be seen at night. And with some luck you will be able to spot the one male lion in the park who resides down by Lake Mburo.
Day 7: Transfer By car to Entebbe International airport
Depart: Mihingo Lodge | Arrive: Entebbe airport
Early start of the day you will go for a bush walk guided by a ranger. Experience a safari on foot that will allow you to notice the smaller, often overlooked, details and usually brings you much closer to the wildlife than when in a car.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and with a game drive on your way out you will depart the protected area and back towards the capital city. En-route you will pass the Equator where we you’ll make a stop for lunch, photos and souvenir shopping.
Arrival will be late in the afternoon in Entebbe, in time to connect with your flight back home.
